JPA provides plant valuation and casualty loss appraisal following industry guidelines and methods. These are defined in the latest version of The Guide for Plant Appraisal authored by the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers and published by the International Society of Arboriculture.

 

James was instrumental in forming the American Society of Consulting Arborists (ASCA) Appraisal Advisory Group (A3G) in 2008. He continues as a member of A3G and participates in review of the current Edition revisions.

 

Ongoing JPA valuation projects include the appraisal of trees to be preserved during construction for the City of Scotts Valley Planning Department and valuation of trespass damage on private property.
